I visited Gunung Leuser National Park, one of the two remaining habitats for Sumatran orang-utans. This is one of the largest national parks in the world, containing over 800,000 hectares of virgin rainforest. I explored the trails, searching for orang-utans and wildlife. I also visited a feeding session where rehabilitated orphans and captured orang-utans are cared for until they are ready to be released into the wild. Bonito, Brazil is the place where one snorkels in rainforest rivers. But few make it to the Buraco das Araras (Macaw's Hole), a collapsed cave where red macaws nest and fly around. Beautiful spot, not to be missed!
