I like this for a time-out alternative. As opposed to sitting and stewing, s/he has to sort the box--works fine motor skills, recognizing differences (it could be colors or shapes), etc...

This is a great way to teach job skills. You can recreate this with a piece of plywood and add hooks. I then took old Avon books and cut out images of perfumes, eye shadows, and other images from magazines that you might find at Dollar Tree. This activity is a sorting or zoning activity. They have to match the like items. Some of our students work at Dollar Tree, so this helps others that may one day get that job site-By Bernice

Here is one I absolutely love! I stumbled on it on Pinterest. It was originally posted to a new blog called the OTs Bag. It's a visual discrimination/following directions activity called "Ping Pong Ball Match." Unfortunately the blog doesn't exist anymore, but this is such a great idea!
