Digital art can create too clean of lines, so I use some procreate effects to rough and blur things up a bit to get that classic anime look. (This works in other programs too like photoshop of course!) 1. Duplicate Line Art Layer, add Gaussian blur (5-10%). Vintage anime was released in SD and didn’t have crisp pretty lines like all our artwork does now. 2. Add Noise. I use Ridges-Multi, which gives the noise color like box TVs used to have. 3. Add Chromatic Aberration. A slight Displace of this effect is like the cherry on top for anime vintage style. I hope you find this tutorial useful for whatever kind of digital art you create!
