Inspired by the biological diversity of the San Marcos River, JB Public Art recently installed a glowing LED sculpture called Fish Bellies on the campus of Texas State University. Mirroring the progress of a school of fish, Fish Bellies reflects the social and communal spirit of the university’s campus. The sculpture is fully interactive, and it’s glowing forms construct an organic, illuminated landscape that is meant to spark interest in the region’s unique ecology and biology.

À l’intérieur d’une représentation ludique, l’installation propose une réflexion sur la culture du maïs à des fins de production d’énergie « propre ». Les champs de maïs sont toujours aussi présents dans nos paysages, mais les fruits ne sont plus destinés à nos assiettes. Ils alimentent des usines de transformation pour en faire du carburant.
