This is a beautiful antique Dunn & Co of London traditional UK size 7 1/8 black silk top hat dating from the early/ mid 20th century. We would estimate circa 1930s - 1940s Genuine silk top hats are no longer being made and you cannot buy new one. This hat is particularly noteworthy due to its good size. The top hat is in excellent wearable antique condition. The inner leather band and inner silk has minor marks consistent with being worn. There is the figure 7.18 and the name Bartolome on the inside of the inner band. More importantly the outer silk is in excellent antique condition, as silk cannot be repaired. There is no loss of silk on the crown or edges, and apart from a pinprick of loss just above the bow there is no visible signs of dents or creases across the outside of the hat.
