Blood of the Irish: What DNA Tells Us About the Ancestry of People in Ireland
One of the oldest texts composed in Ireland is the Leabhar Gabhla. It tells a semi-mythical history of the waves of people who settled in Ireland in earliest time, that first settlers to arrive were a small dark race called the Fir Bolg, and that the group that then came & fully established itself as rulers were the Milesians - the sons of Mil, a soldier from Spain. Modern DNA research has confirmed that the Irish are close genetic relatives of the people of northern Spain.
