Shantemon or 'Fionn mac Cumhaill's Fingers', Co Cavan This hilltop alignment is situated on a natural shelf with long views east. None of the stones are over 6ft high but they are all quite bulky. The site is reached via a steep and tricky path up the hillside from the road, where the alignment is signposted as 'Finn McCools Fingers'.

Bawnboy Workhouse: In 1853, just after the Great Famine, a workhouse was opened in Bawnboy. Although the workhouse shut in 1921, the chapel there was still used by locals until 1979.
