One Of The World Most Beautiful Hikes
Scotland's West Highland way is a 155 km thu hike. Some people do it in 5 days, but we took 9 to allow us to linger over the spectacular beauty of the landscape. Part of the charm of a civilization that developed before trains and cars – towns and villages are spaced a day’s walk apart. It was an incredible journey. Learn more on our blog.

Lock Lomand | Scotland
We made sure that while we were hiking the West Highland Way there was plenty of time to appreciate the north-east shore of the Loch before setting off towards “The Wilds”, and we weren’t disappointed. We settled by the waters at several locations to appreciate the stunning views, listen to the waves lapping at the shore, and just contemplate life. The Bluebells of Loch Lomand
Anyone who knows anyone from Scotland – or who has listened to any Scottish folk music or read any Scottish poetry – has heard of Loch Lomond. We had read a great deal about the natural beauty of the lake and its shoreline, and so chose to take our time along this stretch of The West Highland Hikng Route. This photo represents one of the most stunning moments of natural beauty we have ever beheld. To learn more about hiking this, visit our blog.

300 Year Old Inn
Staying at this Inn was one of the most memorable experiences of our lives. Located in the Scotland Highlands, in the area of Argyll and Bute. It's the kind of place you go hoping to see ghosts roaming the hallways. We stayed here while hiking the West Highland Way, 155km route that we covered in 9 days. Antler Academy
Visit the North Pole, just a 20-minute drive from Fairbanks Alaska, for a wonderfully tacky visit to Santa’s House and the Reindeer Academy. The reindeer pen – where we learned fascinating facts and had a chance to feed these gentle creatures – is the best part. #christmasvacations #uniquetravel #travelalaska

Loch Lomand Waterfall
This hike along the eastern shores of Loch Lomond should be given lots of time to take in the natural splendour of the flora along this section of the Way. The forested path is magical, intersected continuously by small waterfalls and rivulets cascading out of the hills. This is part of a hike from Rowardennan to Inversnaid along Scotland's West Highland Way. Learn more about this hiike on our blog.

Hiking from Rowardennan to Inveraran
Many people do the hike from Scotlands Rowardennan to Inversnaid in one day, but we chose to really take our time and broke it up into two days. There were so many beautiful sights, like this tree growing out of the lake's bank horizontally over the water. Having lots of time to take in the natural splendour of the flora along this section of the West Highland Way was so worth it. The forested path is magical, intersected continuously by small waterfalls and rivulets cascading out of the hills. There are sections of the path where the weathered roots of ancient trees are visible above ground and are almost indistinguishable from the stone and rock that line the path. some rocks and trees on the side of a mountain trail with moss growing over them
Rowardennan to Inverarnan
So many people had walked this trail over so long a time that the rocks were eroded into foot hugging steps while trees had smooth hand holds. This was taken at stage three of Scotland's West Highland Way, a 22 km (about 13.5 mi) jump from Rowardennan to Inverarnan we chose to break that section into two equal 11 km (6.75 mi) stages: Rowardennan to Inversnaid for stage three; and, Inversnaid to Inverarnan for stage four. That made for two relatively easy walking days, although admittedly some of the terrain is challenging in bits, especially with full packs. Learn more about doing this multi-day hike on our blog.

Roots and Rocks
This never gets old for us. The way roots dig into rock and slowly break it appart always reminds us of Tolkien's Ents come to life. Scotland's West Highland Way hiking route offers lots of stunning sights like this. The whole route is 155km long and we took nine days to do it so we could really enjoy the beauty of nature. The West Highland Way
Back in 2017 we took on our biggest distance hiking challenge to date: the West Highland Way. Hiking has always been an important part of our lives, but up until this point we had never done a multi-day journey. The West Highland Way made numerous “best hikes in the world” lists, and seemed the perfect challenge for our first prolonged hike. The romanticism of the West Highland Way had a strong pull, but so did the idea of ending each day in a proper bed. That’s part of the charm of a civilization that developed before trains and cars – towns and villages are spaced a day’s walk apart. Learn more about this adventure on our blog.

Escape the Digital World
Escape to a tropical island in Cambodia where wifi and electricy are scarce, but tranquility is abundant. When we visited Robinson Bungalows we learned to embrace the opportunity to disconnect from the digital world and immrse ourselves in the serenity of the moment. There you can indulge in simple pleasures of pristine beaches, clear waters, and lush jungle. Allow yourself to unwind and recharge amidst the natural beauty that surrounds you.

Tropical Simplicity
Staying on Koh Rong Somloem in Cambodia provided us with a return to simplicity we didn't even know we needed. There is very limited, the shower water is a bit warm only at peak heat of the day, there are no parties so the nights are gloriously quiet, every bungalo is spaced out to give guests a delicious sense of privacy. The tranquillity slowly seeps into your bones until the outside world seems to fade into a vague memory. It's located on Sunset Beach, accessible only by a 25 minute hike through jungle. Traveller's Library
Take a book, leave a book. Let the world around you disappear. This lovely bookshelf is in Koh Rong Samloem, Cambodia, in a remote hotel where there is no wifi or data. It was so nice to watch people disconnect and just enjoy the moment.
