Take a peek at our favorite walnut island that gives contrast and drama to the white perimeter cabinets and countertops. Does anyone else think walnut is going to replace white oak as the new cabinet trend?? Okay, maybe it won’t be quite as popular as rift white oak cabinets because it’s darker and moodier, but it's definitely gaining in popularity as stained wood cabinets are trending back over painted cabinets. No matter the trends, if you ask us, walnut is always a good idea.

This massive Main Bedroom is a combination of two smaller rooms, creating a large footprint with two distinct areas. On the bed side, a decorative console table and large mirror accent the extra space. On the side opposite the bed, we created a seating area defined by a soft, textured area rug. Because sometimes bedrooms are for more than just sleeping.

Instead of open floating shelves, we decided on a metal grid display for a more contemporary look. Separated sections can be easier to style than a long shelf because of the smaller openings with defined breaks while the contained top and sides give a more finished look. We used the sections for all of our favorite categories- coffee, tea, cocktails, and live plants. Do you find styling shelves fun or frustrating??
