3-2-1 Backup means having 3 copies of your photos and other digital files stored on 2 different kinds of media, 1 of which is offsite. An example could be your Photos Library backs up your computer (copy #1, media#1), which automatically backs up to Dropbox (copy #2, media #2 and offsite copy) and to a Time Machine backup (copy #3) on an external hard drive attached to your computer.
