In this final post of their series featuring Canada’s national dementia strategy, they invited Professor Herrmann to provide his input and commentary on the five underlying pillars in the strategy identified as "essential for implementation, for upholding the principles and achieving the national objectives."
Vex V5 Robotics Competition
Our Upper School Robotics Team participated in the 2024 Vex V5 Robotics Competition! It was their first competition of the year, and three teams from Havergal competed in this event. Two of them qualified for elimination matches, with one team reaching the quarter-finals. All three teams worked hard, had fun, and are looking forward to modifying their robots and participating in their next competition in January!
Gr. 11 Computer Science Final Project: June 2020
Havergal Gr. 11 Computer Science students created computer games for their final projects! Their assignment was to choose a popular retro game that their parents would be familiar with and program it using Python. Students did a wonderful job and Mr. Cardinale is very proud of their projects.
CodeTheCurve
Congrats to Angelina in Grade 7! Angelina and 5 teammates recently participated the global CodeTheCurve hackathon, organized by UNESCO, IBM, and SAP. This 3-week hackathon asked developers from all over the world to use their digital skills to develop solutions to counter the COVID-19 pandemic. Angelina's team “VRoam” was the youngest team in the competition and they finished in the top-3 globally out of 200 teams, as well as placing first in the Education category.
