But my kids have been into what we call “Grandma core”. And just like I thought when I brought this home, I was told multiple times by my kids and my son’s girlfriend how much they loved the old tole painting on the front and how I better not touch it. So I decided since this seems to be the hip new vintage thing to just fix and update the base. The old greenhouse style panels were no match for Michigan winters and springs. I got sick of looking at it and finally decided to go ahead with an idea I had for a while. We needed more shade but still wanted some light. We took reed fencing. Cut it to fit and laid our roof panels on top and secured them with bolts. I cant believe how much more warm and inviting it feels.
