My Top 10 Christian Dior Favorites From 1950

About a month ago I wrote a post about my favorite fashions by Fath from 1950, so now I am sharing my favorite Dior designs from that same year. Woman's Dress (Robe à la française) with Attached Stomacher

This is a woman's dress known as a Robe à la française, otherwise known as a sack-back gown. This style of gown had fabric at the back arranged in box pleats which fell loose from the shoulder to the floor with a train. This particular robe à la française was made with a silk taffeta with woven ribs and supplementary weft flosses, silk looped fringe and displayed a floral pattern. In the front, the gown was open, showing off a decorative matching stomacher and petticoat .
