Douglas Adams, the writer and creator of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, was a hugely talented man. The work for which he is most known began as a six-part radio comedy series which so captivated its audience, it spawned more episodes, a TV series, books and even a computer game. Hitchhiker (as he referred to it) was not one idea which caught on, it was a whole string of ideas, all stuffed into packges of various formats which got better with repeated re-listening/reading/watching.
