Francesca Colussi Cramer is a textile artist and designer, exploring the intersections of what is considered art, design and craft.

This vintage postcard depicts a woman from the Hardanger region of Norway. It is estimated that the photo was taken sometime between 1885-1900. The photographer is Solveig Lund, a Norwegian photographer who lived from 1869-1943. She closed her studio in 1906. My aim with this embroidered postcard was to highlight the beautiful designs of the woman's dress, while also leaning into the colors Lund had applied to her original photo, primarily navy blue, deep red, and golden/yellow tones.
