On December 24, 1968, NASA’s Astronaut Bill Anders captured this historic first image of Earth from the Lunar orbit during the Apollo 8 mission. Anders saw the Earth rising above the Lunar horizon and decided to take the colour shot of the scene using his Hasselblad handheld camera and a 250 mm lens.
