The Peace Foundation. The Cool Schools Peer Mediation Programme is a whole schools programme that was developed in 1991. It aims to train students in the skills of mediation and conflict resolution, whereby children learn to mediate conflict amongst their peers. It is now in over half of the schools throughout Aotearoa/New Zealand.

Resolving conflicts with others may be life's greatest social emotional skill. Avoiding conflict, seeking conflict, mishandling conflict is tough for many an adult (raises hand). Peer Mediation is not easier than handling it yourself. But it is valuable.
