This is an easy and fun way to visually show your kids why they need to wash with soap!

❤️ In a shallow dish or tray, add some water
🧡 Shake some pepper on top
💛 Now have your little ones dip their finger into some dish soap
💚 Place their finger straight down into the middle of the pepper and watch the magic!

What happens? 🤯

When the soap touches the water, the pepper quickly scatters to the edges of the dish. This happens because soap reduces the surface tension of the water and creates a reaction that pushes the pepper away.

Science Behind It:
❤️ Surface Tension: Water molecules like to stick together, creating a "skin" on the surface. This is called surface tension.

It appears that the pepper is afraid of the soap, but it's actually the water moving away from the soap that pushes the pepper to the sides of the bowl.

Dip a finger or q-tip into dish soap and then dip into the pepper & water. Then watch what happens!
