How long does it take plastic to decompose?

I took a tour of the local recycling plant today, managed by one of the custodians and handy men at the synagogue where I work. Ed is an amazing human being in so many ways, and I'm still processing what I saw. The shirt version, for now is 1) we can do this, so recycle when you can! 2) we have a bit of a crisis of where to out this stuff right now because we used to send it to China, but they are no longer willing to take it, so we need a new (dare I say, more sustainable and local)…
