Further supplement strategies for managing emotions and sensory needs as part of their social emotional learning with these free, timely strategies and tools when specifically using The Zones of Regulation curriculum to help individuals ages 5-18+. These free resources provide select examples of deeper instruction when using some of the 11 Zones of Regulation products.

Setting aside a quiet room for elementary students who need time and strategies to regulate their emotions helps them return to class feeling ready to learn.

This visual tool is intended to help students identify how they feel and what they would need to help them regulate! These resources turned out to be a great asset in my classroom calm down area.

This is a zones of self regulation board. A student will walk up to the board and first look at the pictures of their classmates emotions under each color zone in order to figure out how they feel. Then they follow the column over to the right to the description words of that emotion in that zone. Lastly they look at what they can do in order to get out of a zone or stay in a zone. This allows students to manage their own behavior and to problem solve.
