Whether you're watching the circus in person, or simply enjoying a circus theme in your home preschool (or classroom!), popcorn is a must!

Here is a simple craft we made when we had our Circus theme. The kids used a black Sharpie to draw a spiral on a small paper plate. Then they painted the plate with glitter paint. When it was dry, I taped a straw to the back. The kids loved them! I hung them up as is, but you could also wrap the top in plastic, gather it around the straw where it meets the plate, and tie a bow with ribbon. To see our other circus treats, go here.

Cheryl and our neighbour Sean were bothering me to do some art and craft. Inspired by the recent trip to Genting Highlands, Sean suggested doing a Ferris wheel with a paper plate. With some improvisation, this was the end result... We used coloured paper for the spokes of the wheel and individual carriages. We made this for fair week in my toddler class. The children made the handprints themselves and I cut the hands out, had kids put googly eyes on the fish and I made a smile for them, then we put the goldfish in a cellophane bag to give the idea of it being a fish in a bowl . Very fun and cute idea for a busy toddler classroom.
