Western & Atlantic Railroad #49, "The Texas," a 4-4-0 "American" type locomotive built by Danforth, Cooke and Company in 1856. The principal pursuit engine in The Great Locomotive Chase, "the Texas" pursued "the General" over fifty miles before the latter was abandoned by the Union raiders, and was towed back to Adairsville, Georgia. Placed in the basement of the Atlanta Cyclorama in 1927, the engine is currently at the Atlanta History Center, with plans for it to go on exhibit this fall.
