Triangle Diagram With Speed
Waves are transferring energy from one point to another. The forms of energy, sound, and light are carried by waves. The property of a wave depends on the amount of energy being transferred. The higher the energy in the wave, the higher the frequency and the shorter waves with lower energy have low frequencies and longer wavelengths.

The Physics of Sound
This is a powerpoint I made for our reference. It contains the basic physics of sound - key words, how it travels, etc. It could also be used as the slide for the first lecture. -Julia I do not own the pictures used in these slides. Most of the information was taken from http://www.physicsclassroom.com/class/sound/.
Waves teaching resources - the science teacher
Worksheets and lesson ideas to challenge students aged 11 to 16 to think hard about waves (GCSE and Key Stage 3) What is wave? What is the source of a wave? How is it possible for waves to travel through vacuums? This fantastic demonstration by Alom Shaha uses a homemade wave machine to illustrate some important principles. What is a
Sound and Light Waves Investigations
Much of what you experience—from the things you see to the sounds you hear—travels to you in waves. But how do sound and light waves work? For thousands of years, scientists have been testing hypotheses about waves and learning from the results of observations and experiments. These tests ultimately lead to more questions: How can we see colors? Why can light travel in a vacuum while sound can’t? How does the pitch of a sound change as it gets closer to you?
