A Lancashire street corner, 1969.- Wilson Street St.Helens - On Friday 12th Dec 1969 I was up at 4:20am and, by 4:40, was waiting at the bus stop at the top of our road in Staple Hill, Bristol. Market Hall 1900. Bolton Market Hall was designed by architect G. T. Robinson, and opened on 19 December 1855. Measuring 294 feet in length and covering an area of 7000 square yards.
UK, Lancashire - Townleys now called Royal Bolton Hospital. Sep 1861 the Bolton Poor Law Union opened a new workhouse at Fishpool Farm just north of Plodder Lane on the west side of Farnworth. In 1896 Townley's Hospital was erected just north of the workhouse. In 1930 when the Bolton Union was abolished the workhouse became known as Fishpool Institution, and in 1948 under the National Health Service, became part of the Townley's Hospital complex, now the Royal Bolton Hospital.
