Issue 21 of Neo-opsis Science Fiction Magazine, published February 7, 2012. The cover of issue 21 is Diamond Planet, by Karl Johanson. This is an artist's conception of a 'diamond planet, recently discovered orbiting a radio pulsar (PSR J1219-1428). The planet was discovered by Professor Matthew Bailes (of the Swinburn University of Technology) and his team.
Issue 20 of Neo-opsis Science Fiction Magazine, published March 25, 2011. The cover of issue 20 is Cat in Space, by Janice Blaine. It has been said that one word can be worth a thousand pictures; that all creation begins with a single thought. It is within that idea that Janice’s work takes shape. Her paintings are interpretations of the stories all around us. Janice’s personal work is fueled by a passion for storytelling and a love of nature.
Issue 19 of Neo-opsis Science Fiction Magazine, published June 17, 2010. The cover of issue 19 is Mother Earth, by Victoria BC artist Christina Price. Christina was a student at Pacific Christian High in Victoria, BC. at the time she painted this image. She had been taking art classes since she was nine and enjoyed conveying her ideas through her art. I sincerely hope she is continuing her creativity vision, because her artwork is wonderful.
Issue 18 of Neo-opsis Science Fiction Magazine, published December 17, 2009. The cover, Alien Landscape, is an acrylic painting by Ann Lightbody. Ann is a former teacher who commonly lends her proofreading skills to Neo-opsis Science Fiction Magazine. Ann Lightbody passed away in March of 2014. She and her work will be missed.
