Trust me it makes it easier! - Paint the boards, I like to use 1x4 MDF pre primed boards (actual size is 1x3.5”) - Frame the wall with the same sized boards as the grid - To find the distance between each board take the distance between one side of the wall to the other (after the wall has been framed out) then subtract the number of boards x the width of each board and divide that by how many spaces you need. Math I know 😬 ( length of wall from side to side after framed out - # of boards x board width / number of squares from side to side) for reference mine usually end up being around 29” square - Fill gaps and nail holes and caulk - Sand and then touch up the paint!
