That’s where the Cost Per Wear Formula comes in. And it’s really quite simple. It’s helped me to reframe the way I see my clothing. To start seeing them as investments, thoroughly thought out investments rather than fleeting trends.
Linen is one of my favourite sustainable materials. Made from the flax plant, linen is strong and absorbent making it perfect for warm and cooler weather. Linen is also a natural material, as it comes from a plant, it’s easily biodegradable at the end of its life. It also takes less water to grow than cotton and actively removes CO2 from the air. On top of all the wonderful sustainable aspects of linen, it’s also one of the most comfortable materials. But don’t take it from me, people have been wearing it for centuries from ancient Egypt to Mesopotamia!

Sustainable shoes are either a big hit or a terrible miss for me. Vivaia shoes happen to be a really big hit. They’re branded as “conscious comfort” and that’s truly what they are. Vivaia’s shoes are made from recycled water bottles – almost 1 million plastic bottles have been recycled and used in their shoes so far! Amazing! I really do consider myself minimalist when it comes to fashion. Typically I like to stick to neutral colours and easy, breezy shapes and silhouettes. Though I will be the first to admit that my footwear has never been a top priority for me.
