Dunlop Cycle Tires, 1914
Strange to think that there was a time when bicycles were considered useful for a war effort, though I suppose one could argue that they are serving in that role once again. Different time, different war. I’ve had my own battle with Dunlop tires; the Bakfiets (a Dutch bike) that I purchased has Dunlop valves, but it’s been a mighty struggle finding bike pumps in the States that can accommodate them. (Wasn’t that a great war story?) Unknown artist, United Kingdom poster.
