Wrote/recorded a review of Adam Gauntlett’s #callofcthulhu scenario Spilsbury #9485, written for Stygian Fox’s modern day scenario anthology, Fear’s Sharp Little Needles. A very brief set of intriguing guidelines, though the actual structure of the scenario is left entirely up to the Keeper. Three Requests Review – Call of Cthulhu (Bibliothek 13)
Wrote/recorded a review of the Japanese #CallofCthulhu scenario Three Requests, by Uchiyama Yasujirou for the scenario collection Bibliothek 13. Do Not Call Up That Which Cannot Be Put Down Review – Call of Cthulhu (Fear’s Sharp Little Needles)
Review of the #CallofCthulhu scenario Do Not Call Up That Which You Cannot Put Down, written by Brian Courtemanche for Stygian Fox's Fears Sharp Little Needles. A tense moral-dilemma final scene, but with a largely-choiceless build-up. https://mjrrpg.com/do-not-call-up-that-which-cannot-be-put-down-review-call-of-cthulhu-fears-sharp-little-needles/ #ttrpg
The Haunting Review - Call of Cthulhu
(Kind of) Review of the ur-classic Call of Cthulhu scenario, The Haunting, originally written by Sandy Peterson. The review bit is short, because everyone and their dog and their dog’s dog has already written reviews for it. This is more a collection of additions I made to the spooky house. Plague of the Pharaohs Review - Call of Cthulhu (Seeds of Terror)
Wrote/recorded a review of the Call of Cthulhu scenario The Plague of the Pharaohs, written by Allan Carey, the 12th and final entry in TYPE 40's Seeds of Terror series. A linear, literal dungeon crawl with just enough colourful set pieces to keep the session interesting. Also, my favourite monster ever. The Dark Brood - Call of Cthulhu (Grindhouse)
Wrote/recorded a review of the #CallofCthulhu scenario The Dark Brood, by Alex Guillotte and Ian Christiansen, the 3rd Grindhouse scenario. A nasty little scenario that puts players in a difficult situation and gives them freedom to make their own plans and mistakes, but it does require very heavy improvisation from the Keeper, even compared to other Grindhouse scenarios. https://mjrrpg.com/the-dark-brood-call-of-cthulhu-grindhouse/ #TTRPG #TRPG
Scream of the Mandrake Review - Call of Cthulhu (Seeds of Terror)
Wrote/recorded a review of the #CallofCthulhu scenario Scream of the Mandrake, by Allan Carrey, the 10th Seeds of Terror. One of the only Seeds to focus on social investigation, as well as being one of the overall weirdest. https://mjrrpg.com/scream-of-the-mandrake-review-call-of-cthulhu-seeds-of-terror/ #TTRPG #TRPG
Isle of the Damned Review - Call of Cthulhu (Grindhouse)
Review of the #CallofCthulhu scenario Isle of the Damned, written by @Gothnog and @ijonchrist, the 2nd Grindhouse entry. A stripped-down, brutal and gross little cabin survival-horror scenario that gets straight to the point Read/listen: https://mjrrpg.com/isle-of-the-damned-review-call-of-cthulhu-grindhouse/ #TTRPG #TRPG
