New botantical painting series in Alcohol ink on linen canvas. This series was inspired by a visit to Claude Monet's garden in Giverny, France in 2022. I really wanted to explore something different so I choose alcohol ink on an inappropriate surface of canvas to see how the ink would react. I have 2 challenges in this series of paintings. Firstly, the alcohol ink does not blend well on canvas because of the porous surface. Secondly. the linen canvas is Natural in color so the alcohol ink color will be off against the Natural surface.
