I enjoy sitting by the lake and watching different kinds of water birds… and I especially like the white ducks. The Pekin is an American breed of domestic duck that is all white. 262K views · 35K reactions | My top tips about Masking Fluid: (as you requested) Masking fluid (also known as masking liquid) is an essential tool in watercolour painting. This special fluid protects paper from water and paint, allowing you to preserve white spaces in your artwork. Here are some key points to remember when using masking fluid: • Application: Always apply masking fluid on dry paper. Peel it off when you finish your painting only after the paper has dried completely to avoid tearing or damaging the paper. • Types of Masking Fluid: I use several types of masking fluid in my artworks: -Bottle: Perfect for covering large areas. I apply the liquid with a brush, which is very convenient. Just remember to wash the brush thoroughly with soap after use. -Bottle with a Special Tip: Ideal for small areas or thin lines. The precision tip makes it easy to apply the fluid exactly where you need it. -Masking Fluid Marker: Great for small dots or strokes. The marker allows for quick and easy application in tight spots. • Paper Thickness: Ensure your paper is thick enough to handle the masking fluid, with a minimum weight of 300gsm. This prevents the paper from tearing when you peel off the masking fluid. • Timing: After applying masking fluid, aim to finish your painting within two weeks. Leaving masking fluid on the paper for too long can cause it to harden and become difficult, if not impossible, to remove. (I once left masking fluid on an illustration for about three months, and when I returned to it, the masking fluid had dried completely and was stuck to the paper, ruining the piece.😢😞) I hope it was helpful☺️ | Natalia | Ty's Music · As Time Flies

someone is painting a black and white landscape with watercolors
447K views · 29K reactions | Details 👇🏻 When I first started doing these intuitive paintings I hated every single one of them. But I really enjoyed the process so I kept doing them. Now, after doing at least dozens of these, sometimes I still hate how they turn out 😂. But sometimes I love them so much more than anything my brain could have consciously created. (I really loved this one 😊) So if you’re wanting to paint this way, here’s my recommendation: If it feels fun for you, just do it! Use both sides of the paper. Get comfortable with the idea that sometimes you won’t love the painting in the end. It’s still worth it if you enjoyed the time spent on it. And in time, your instincts will sharpen, and you’ll learn to trust yourself more 😊. Do you enjoy painting this way?
