It's a well! Journey to water security
Water is the key to so many things in life. It nourishes the land and in so doing nourishes the animals, birds, plant life and microbiology. I have tried a number of things over the years to secure a reliable water supply but it is only the last years that I have moved away from hauling water to a more secure water supply by boring a well. However, it is not perfect, it cost me a bit and there is still more to figure out but for now, well, It's a well.
Wiring the Well Pump - The Next Step
Having made the decision to have a well drilling contractor drilling the well and to have a well pump contractor do the work of installing a new well pump, taking the well plumbing the final steps of being able to have water inside the house taps fell on me to complete. It involved setting up the pressure tank and well pressure switch wiring.
Installing a Well Pump
It is one thing to have a well drilling contractor bore a new water well for use on the homestead, but the cost to drill a well would not be complete if the water does not get to where I need it. To facilitate this, installing a new well pump and well plumbing are the first order of business.
Will a Water Analysis give all the Answers?
I have done the research, done the legwork and spent the money to bore a well that will hopefully give me the water security I desire. But as it is known that all water is not created equal, I wonder how my water will compare to the provincial averages. The only way to know for certain is to do a water analysis by a water testing service. But will I get the answers I am looking for?
A Journey to Water Security
I decided that drilling a large diameter water well was going to be my best option for water security on the homestead. But like most things, there are risks involved and of course, a large sum of money. To avoid the cost of just drilling a large diameter water well to find out what I had to work with, a test well was drilled using dry auger test drilling as part of the journey to water security.
