Fermenting Cabbage and other Vegetables
Fermenting is something that has been done for a very long time and is considered to be one of the oldest methods of food preservation. Due to its health benefit's, fermented foods are making a resurgence in many forms such as vegetables, live yogurt, kefir, cheese, sourdough bread and kombucha, to name a few. Fermenting cabbage and other vegetables is an economic, easy way for me to consume fermented foods that are nutrient dense, easy to digest and good for me.
Adventures with Sourdough - Homemade Sourdough Bagels
I had always viewed sourdough as one of those out of reach things that someone else could perfect, but not for me. It always seemed to be a daunting skill to master. That was until recently when I took on the challenge to learn about sourdough. And now, almost 2 years later and many learning opportunities later, I am able to make things like Homemade sourdough bagels and many other delicious baked goods.
