While on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor I worked with our Art Director Chris Sutton and our tech art team to develop the material customization system for BD-1, Blasters and Lightsabers. I created all base repeatable materials in Substance Designer in a relatively 'clean' state and then painted a set of specific wear masks for each piece in Substance Painter. Finally everything was brought together in a custom Unreal material to create the wear system that you see on the Workbench in the game…
