Are your students confused by nouns, verbs & adjectives? Try these task cards to help demystify parts of speech for your students. This packet contains 32 (plus 4 bonus) task cards that review parts of speech (common nouns, proper nouns, verbs, adjectives, pronouns & adverbs) for 3rd grade students. Each task card contains one multiple choice question. These task cards were created to help students identify and recognize the various parts of speech, in order to understand their function.
These task cards can be used:
- As a group activity: Post the cards around your room and allow students to move around, completing the questions on the provided recording sheet or project the cards, one at a time, on your SMART Board and allow students to show their answers by holding up a whiteboard.
- As a small group or individual activity: Keep the task cards in a literacy center for independent practice.
Two recording sheets are provided. The first provides space for all 36 task card answers. Students can use the space provided to record the letter of the correct answer for each task card. This version is provided in half-page and full-page sizes. The second recording sheet provides space for 18 answers. This sheet can be provided for students to complete a smaller selection of cards. For the second recording sheet, students must record the number of the task cards they complete.
