LactationHub on Instagram: "👶🏼👶🏼Side lying bottle feeding is a great way to feed twins together, but it’s also amazing if you only have one baby! :) 🤱🏽It mimics breastfeeding and makes feeding more comfortable. 🤢 Helps with Reflux by reducing spit-up & slowing the milk flow. 🍼Prevents Overfeeding as babies can control their milk intake better 💦Easier and safer for babies to swallow, decreases choking and aspiration risk How to Do It? 1. Neck Extended: Keep their necks nicely extended to help them swallow. 2. Aligned Bodies: Make sure hips, shoulders, and heads are in a straight line. Provide slight elevation for babies with reflux. 3. Side Position: Keep babies on their sides, not on their backs! Pacing the Feed: ⏱️Aim for about 5 minutes per ounce of milk. If it’s faster, t

This video taught me a lot, because although we see the kiddo is upset and crying, the mom keeps putting in back in bed and we can see he does learn. She also doesn’t get mad or upset at him, she just places him back in there and eventually he goes to sleep! Sometimes parenting doesn’t feel good! We don’t like to see our kids crying. No one likes that but at the same time, we don’t have to get upset by it or get mad at them for it. We can still hold a boundary and hold space for their emotions about the boundary. Gentle parenting isn’t doing everything to keep your kid happy, it’s actually knowing how to set boundaries while in a neutral emotional place and having empathy for them at the same time. Dr Ainslee Roughan on Instagram: "She fell asleep within 2 minutes of doing this! And this isn't a one off, it's a regular occurrence. Follow @babysleepwithainslee for more holistic sleep info. When our babies get dysregulated & overstimulated (also known as "overtired"), falling asleep can require more support. More support can look different from baby to baby, depending on their needs, but a GREAT place to start for some babies when less sensory input isn't working is with MORE sensory input, not less. Lots of parents assume LESS sensory input is needed to help a baby get to sleep. *every baby has different sensory needs, some need less, but lots need more sensory input* Deep pressure sensory input such as gentle pressure squeezes & gentle joint compressions like I'm doing in this v

Megan Comens, PT, DPT on Instagram: "⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ Is your baby starting to sit? Use this trick! Having the freedom to move a little in this basket will QUICKLY build core strength. The added security of the confined space allows baby to explore and use the sides to keep herself up. 🔥Want to make it harder? Pull baby in straight lines to challenge their balance and strength 🔥🔥EVEN HARDER? Pull baby in random lines (curve, diagonal) with random starts and stops. What a CHALLENGE! #pediatricpt #pediatricot #momsupport #minimalistbaby #momtip #parenthack #grossmotor #grossmotordevelopment #supportedsitting #babysitting #2under2"

The “5 S’s” is a swaddling technique developed by Dr. Harvey Karp to soothe and calm babies. It mimics the conditions in the womb and consists of five steps: 1. **Swaddling:** Wrap the baby snugly in a blanket to provide a sense of security and warmth, which helps to prevent spontaneous movements that can startle them. 2. **Side or Stomach Position:** Hold the baby on their side or stomach to help them feel more secure. This position can often be more calming than laying them on their back. 3. **Shushing:** Create a “shushing” sound near the baby’s ear. This sound mimics the continuous whooshing sound made by blood flowing through arteries near the womb and works as a white noise to soothe the baby. 4. **Swinging:** Gently rock or swing the baby, which provides a motion similar to what they experienced in the womb. 5. **Sucking:** Let the baby suck on something, such as a pacifier. Sucking has a soothing effect and helps calm the baby. These techniques, when combined, can effectively help calm and comfort a crying or fussy baby. Can this work for adults….Maybe ? | Paul Greene
