Cho La Pass crossing - the long way down
Second of the three passes on the Three Passes Trek - Cho La Pass is demanding and rewarding at the same time - it has two part ascent, a glacier crossing, and a never-ending descent over loose rock, but it's all so worth it as the views you get are just out of this world. We did the Three Passes Trek and the Everest Base Camp Trek for our honeymoon, and I can't wait to go back.

For our honeymoon we went to trek to the Everest Base Camp and take this wonderful photo with my veil. Too bad it was freezing up there, so I could only take my hat off.

Lobuche |Everest Base Camp Trek
When in Lobuche, we stayed in the Oxygen Altitude Lodge for the second night. The rooms are big with big windows which is very nice to have when you are booking in a rest day. I'd highly recommend staying at this lodge, but it's important to plan in advance as the lodges get booked up quickly on the main Everest Base Camp Trek

View of the small village of Lobuche on the Everest Base Camp Trek. We stayed an extra day here to recover from our brutal Kongma La Pass Crossing. The Kongma La Pass is one of the three passes on the Three Passes Trek - usually referred to as the toughest trek in the Everest region, but also the most complete trek if you're in the mood to really explore the area and would prefer to stray away from the tourist herds that go up and down the EBC trail... While resting up in Lobuche after an insane Kongma La Pass crossing on our way to the Everest Base Camp, we found the world's highest bakery and visited the Italian Pyramid located 1.1 km from Lobuche.

On the three passes trek, the toughest trek in the Everest region, the Kongma La Pass is the highest pass. We chose this as our honeymoon destination, and it was definitely an unforgettable one!
