The Summer Solstice is near!

According to the Traditional Chinese Calendar, Xià Zhì (which translates to "summer's extreme"), arrives on June 20, 2024.

As the 10th solar term of the year, Xià Zhì marks the height of summer and the beginning of the hottest stretch of the season, when the day is longest and the night is shortest.

Since the element of Summer is Fire, it is encouraged to eat bitter foods like bitter gourd to keep the body cool, or watermelons during this time. Never give up on your inner child, the one who wants to play all the time 💛 As we age, rigidity can set in, both mentally and physically. Staying healthy in Chinese medicine isn't simply about eating the right foods or sleeping at the right time (though that's important!). It also includes moving your body in new ways, feeling all your emotions and never giving up on that sense of play.
