Top Left: Bruce and Dorothy Johnson of Winnipeg, Manitoba (1956) Bottom Left: Dr. and Mrs. John Perl of Chicago, Illinois (1956) Right: Ralph and Blanche Lohr of Muscatine, Iowa (1957)
Throwback to the construction of the original famous wooden Sioux Narrows Bridge in 1936. Once the longest single span bridge in the world, the opening of the bridge on July 1, 1936 brought an influx of tourists to the area and made our wonderful communities more accessible to all. #throwbackthursday #tbt #woodenbridge #ontariotravel #canadianhistory #oldbridges #snnf #siouxnarrows #nestorfalls #livethelakelife #lakeofthewoods
In the 1930's, Bill Coutts had a large two-storey houseboat built that accommodated 20 house guests plus guides and cooks. The boat was tied up around the entrance to Turtle Lake. Years later, this houseboat was dismantled and used as a cabin at Coutt's Camp's mainland location. #Tbt #throwbackthursday #ontariohistory #livethelakelife #snnf #nestorfalls #nwo #houseboats #vintage #houseboating
