Weight loss
When trying to lose weight, here are three things to focus on. Diet, sleep, and stress. Eating balanced meals that keep you full + satisfied, getting enough sleep each night, and managing stress are key. A stressed out, sleep deprived, or (severely) calorie deprived body is going to hold onto fat as that triggers survival mode.
Sleep tight
An important foundation for weight loss is sleeping enough each night. The average person needs 7-9 hours of sleep per night. Getting less than that is linked to increased appetite the next day, weight gain, metabolic dysregulation, and glucose (blood sugar) intolerance (a precursor to diabetes).
Chronic stress
Chronic stress can lead to weight gain, decreased energy, and poor sleep quality. Finding ways to regulate stress levels is an important part of health. Exercise, spending time outside, doing a fun activity you enjoy, or breathwork are all great ways to regulate your nervous system and decrease stress.
