It occurs in savannas and open areas in central Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina and Bolivia, being a typical animal of the Cerrado. 🐺 This mammal stands out for its long and thin limbs and for the color of its hair, which are reddish-orange in a large part of its body.

We have some VERY good news to report about California Wolves! We recently got confirmation that the Lassen Pack miraculously was able to escape from the dangerous Dixie Fire! The Dixie Fire has now grown to 700,000 acres and while they’re not out of the woods yet, they’re right now safe from the wildfire! However it appears the wolves aren’t using as much territory as they used to.

Wolf Awareness Week day seven - I am ending the week with my favorite wolf of all time. She was the Wapiti Lake Pack, founding alpha female. For me, it seemed like she was always smiling. She was an incredible leader, an incredible mama, and honestly she was a goofball. I watched her on many occasions racing through the valley when the pack was 22 strong, running around in circles with the entire pack chasing her. She was full of life, and she loved to play.
